San Sebastian holds historical memories of the christian mass which was heard by Columbus and his shipmates before setting off on their great voyage to the New World. Between San Cristóbal and Farallones the bay is clean and calm. The highest point is called Garajonay (1,487 metres), followed by La Fortaleza (1,245 meters), Encherada and others. Their remoteness means difficult access but breathtaking scenery.
